I Need Phood

With Taureans, a person can get away with more than most, but once they’re pushed past a certain point, they blow up, and these expressions of rage can be frightening. Taurus people are particularly likely to lose their tempers when their blood sugar is low, so they should not tackle important, sensitive issues with partners, friends, or family on an empty stomach.

LOL... Apparently I need to eat to keep my mind sane.

Oh, I Feel So Drunk

These few days I don't get any chance to sleep properly. So now I feel like a drunkard. You know, your body feels like jelly, your head feels like swimming, and the world around you feel so surreal. I've been trying to rouse my motivation by reading lots of design blogs and books. I think it works, but I still need more time since with schedule like now I can't really think properly. Like now. Do you guys even understand what I said? @_@ Please bear with me, it's 4.18 am now.

As much as I like the subject for this term, I think the group discussion is a bit too much. It also super frustrating to discuss though MSN because of he choice of word that we use, so we must meet at college. We have lot's of different opinions, but fortunately we get through that already. Although one of my group in one certain subject that I have no interest in is a bit weird. Pink and white for a name like Sinful Indulgence? WTH. Luckily they change it though. Oh yea, a note for myself, try to speak more gently in discussion Tan! Somehow I feel sometimes some people feel offended when I disagree with their opinion. Must be more subtle. Stupid Tan.

Yesterday (oh hey, it's already Friday! so actually it's the day before yesterday!) we have BBQ with Kenny and Hong in Dee's house. Fantastic food, but a bit too much lamb. Love the salad. Chris is a great piano player. Kenny coming to Dee's house riding bike. WOW. And Mrs.Kok is really pretty. We also forget to eat our watermelon. Plan to leave it in front of MM Dept door and put message "To: Kenny!". Somehow I even think to put it inside a baby crib.

WTH I'm talking about. Sorry, just like the title, I feel so drunk.

About Packing

Maybe it's just me but...
Don't you think the hardest part of packing is choosing which shoes you want to take? I ended up bringing 3 pairs of shoes for 1 week CNY holiday in Indonesia from the original plan to take 6 pairs.
Guess which shoes that I take? ;)

Quick Post

I've been so busy with assignments for this week, sorry for abandoning you, my blog D:

Nothing much to blog actually, but I just feel that I want to blog :P Actually I want to write a super long entry about a movie that I'm interested in, but that must wait for another time. For now, it's just some quick updates about what I've been doing.

1. Almost finished this term, left a bit of 3D modelling, some programming for DM3, and LOTS I mean TONS of programming and animating to do for ADM.

2. Finished the 4 series of Mystery Case Files, just bought the 5th series, Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst for $9.90(50% off!). I've enjoyed the series a lot, so I think buying this series is a must. Besides, it's on discount! \o/

3. Into some jazz lately. Blame Suba for all of those jazz influence. Currently into Jamie Cullum, Matt Dusk and Michael Buble

4. Re-watch X-Men, gain back memories on how awesome Nightcrawler is.

5. Think Ryan Reynold abs can be a substitute for washboard. It's TOO defined. Oh yeah, he'll act as Deadpool in X-Men Origin: Wolverine next year.

6. Still think Hugh Jackman is super sexy. Currently use his picture as desktop wallpaper.

7. Been having weird sleeping schedule

8. Been blogging to procrastinate.

5 Scenes in Comics That I Love

Since last term I've been reading some American comics by my friend's recommendation. Honestly at first I didn't expect much, because to me American comics are all just about superheroes fighting. Turns out it's not all about superheroes that save the day. Some comic with very interesting storylines like Fables (a MUST read!), clash between resposibility, belief and rights in Marvel's Civil War (Capt America died nooooooooo T_T), and many more interesting elements. So here I share some of my favorite scenes in some comics that I've read :D

1. Tony Stark's (Iron Man's) confession in Civil War - The Confession
This is the scenes that makes me forgive Iron Man. I think if they didn't include the scenes, I'll ended up hating Iron Man forever =.= Honestly, even though Iron Man in Movie version can melt my heart to cheese but Iron Man in comics makes me want to throw my high heels to his head. He's such a manipulative and stubborn jerk, but by reading the confessions I think it makes me understand him more. He got his reasons, and his reasons maybe will comes true one day so that he try to prevent it. But still, in the end he confessed that all that he did the whole time in civil war wasn't worth it with the death of Capt.

2. Bigby and Snow White's wedding in Fables #50
Actually not just the wedding scenes, but most of the scenes in this chapter but I think this scenes really seal this story. Finally happiness for Snow and Bigby (the wolf from Red Riding Hood!). Snow white who still believe that happiness can only be found in prince charming with his castles and ritches finally understand that that's not all :) Bigby finally come back to her and they marry and live happily in a land between the farm and city so they can keep their child.

3. Ambrose leading the dead to Hoemland in Fables #67
Finally Ambrose lead all those dead fables back to Homeland and establish his own kingdom with those 'ghost' fables. He also teach The Adversary some lessons about not to disturb his kingdom XD Who knows that Ambrose, former frog prince who become a mop guy in Fabletown, finally arise, lead the dead and create a kingdom? :)

4. Cable and Deadpool - Duct Tape
The funniest superhero comic I've ever read! LOLOLOLOL <--- this is how funny it is. A half insane Deadpool with mouth that can't stop talking with Cable who is more serious but still funny when it comes to replying what Deadpool said. This pair also has the best relationship (when they have different opinion about Civil War, they said they 'divorced') and partnership. Actually there's too many scenes that I love in Cable and Deadpool because of the funniness, but this scenes is the one I remember most, when Cable duct taped him(Cable: "at least 1 roll for his mouth alone") and toilet jokes that Deadpool try to use few times before.

5. Abe meet his ghost wife as Caul in B.P.R.D Yes, B.P.R.D is a spin-off from Hellboy. After Hellboy leaving B.P.R.D to know more about himself, Liz leave also to find peace and controlling her power. Abe and Roger been left alone with Abe plan to follow his friends step, leaving B.P.R.D until one day Johann Krauss joined B.P.R.D and Liz calling Abe for help. The scene that I love is when Abe finally meet his wife, but in a form of ghost who tried to keep Abe(Caul) with her forever. Abe, knowing he can't just keep living in this fake reality, force Edith to see the mirror, the reflection of what the reality is. Making Edith realize thet her place is not in living human world anymore, because she's dead. Leaving Abe with a wife he never know. Seriously, B.P.R.D and Hellboy are very good comics, not matter if you hate or love the movie, read the comic. It's amazing with many stories behind all the members. I really really fall in love with this series. Actually again, like other comics I meantion above, there's lots and lots of scenes that I love in this comics. Like Johann Krauss past, his experience on how he fall in love with a ghost that he supposed to help; Liz with his awakening of power; Abe on how he turn out to be him now; Hellboy's history, etc etc. Give it a try!

Yeah, I only put 5 here, even though there's more that I love. Honestly writing this post is harder that I thought since I'm still new in reading American comics. Those comics are awesome and I wish I can spread the awesomeness here XD Quick! Read the comics I recommend now!

Career According to Birth?

Actually it's been weeks ago since I read this article, but only now I can remember from where I got it LOL. According to research, birth position (oldest, middle, youngest, etc) will be able to affect your personalities, behavior, and learning which ended up affecting your earning power too. So here's the research:

Firstborn:

Personality: Firstborns are ambitious, assertive, dominant and disciplined compared to their younger siblings. They're determined to succeed yet fearful of losing position and rank, and are defensive about errors and mistakes, Dattner says.

Compensation: A recent survey by CareerBuilder.com found that workers who were the firstborn child in their families were more likely to earn $100,000 or more annually compared to their siblings.

Professions: The oldest tend to pursue vocations that require higher education, like medicine, engineering or law. Firstborns from the CareerBuilder.com survey reported working in jobs in government, engineering, pharmacy and science. Ohio State University researchers found firstborn children were more likely to pursue "intellectual" jobs.

Job level: Workers who are firstborn are more likely to report holding a vice president or senior management position, according to the survey.

Famous firstborns: Oprah, Hillary Clinton, Winston Churchill, Sylvester Stallone and Bill Clinton.

Middle:

Personality: Middle children are good at negotiation, peacemaking and compromise, Dattner says. They are easy-going, diplomatic and are usually closer to friends than family.

Compensation: More middle children identified themselves as earning $35,000 or less per year than firstborn or youngest children, according to the CareerBuilder.com survey.

Professions: Middles tend to have excellent negotiating and people skills -- anything that employs these skills is a great fit. Middle children from the CareerBuilder.com survey said they work in nursing, law enforcement, firefighting and machine operation.

Job level: Middle children were more likely to identify with professional and technical staff level positions in the CareerBuilder.com survey. They also reported being the most satisfied with their current positions.

Famous middles: David Letterman, Richard Nixon, Madonna and Princess Diana.

Youngest:

Personality: Youngest children love the limelight and are used to sitting in it. They are charming, creative, have a good sense of humor and manipulate others when they want to get their way.

Compensation: Last borns were the least likely to report earning six figures, according to the CareerBuilder.com survey.

Professions: Youngest children often gravitate toward artistic and outdoor jobs, according to the OSU survey. They're also successful in journalism, advertising, sales and athletics. Those who responded to the CareerBuilder.com survey reported working in art, design, sales and information technology.

Job level: The majority of last borns in the CareerBuilder.com survey held administrative and clerical level positions. They also reported being the least satisfied in their current jobs.

Famous younglings: Jim Carrey, Billy Crystal, Steve Martin, Cameron Diaz and Rosie O'Donnell.

Only children:

Personality: Only children are similar to firstborns in that they are motivated to conform to parental expectations, Dattner says. They are also achievement-oriented, successful in school and have problems delegating work. Research shows they are more confident, articulate and imaginative than other children. They also hate criticism and tend to be perfectionists.

Famous only children: Jack Welch, Tiger Woods, Alan Greenspan and Maria Sharapova.

Twins

Personality: Because of their equal status in terms of age and genes, twins are usually treated the same and turn out similarly. They tend to have different personalities and interests, but are closer to each other than other siblings and to have less conflict with each other than other siblings, Dattner says.

Famous twins: Abigail and Esther Friedman ("Dear Abby" and "Ann Landers"); Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen; Joel and Benji Madden; and Jenna and Barbara Bush.

So, is it true for you? To me it's really true, since I'm the youngest and I'm currently studying design. But it's not so true about my oldest and middle sister thought. I think their role is reversed :P

Plastic Surgery Addict

Well, I think anyone who consider doing plastic surgery need to read this!

A 48 year old Korean woman who first got his plastic surgery at 28 got addicted and can't stop doing plastic surgery until her own family can't recognize her. They take her for mental treatment, but it didn't last long because of the expensive cost. She soon return to plastic surgery after that. At first no any plastic surgery doctor want to give her more plastic surgery, but then an (insane!) doctor agree to inject silicon to her face, even give her a syringe and silicone for her to inject herself! After she run out of silicon stock, she started using COOKING OIL. As we all predicted, her face become so horrible.

The amazing thing is, because of her mental disorder, even though her face already so disfigured, she still think that she get prettier and prettier everytime she did that! She only realize how her face is after the kids in her apartment complex start calling her names.

You can see more picture here.

Mole?

Well, my bad habit when I'm doing my assignment is every now and then I 'rest' from work and browse for any interesting thing in web. Since I like to read blog, I often click here and there until I got interesting blog to read. And somehow, I found this entry about the meaning of your mole! Funny how mole can tell about your fortune and such. I don't really believe in fortune telling, but I always like to try it anyway. How about you? What's the meaning of your mole? LOL.

Umm...

I can't sleep. Again. My body clock really messed up la these few days =_=
Somehow my mind keep telling me to blog, so here I am, blogging at 5.25 am.

We're talking about autism in our class this Monday, and somehow it leads to OCD. I think all my classmates already know my OCD-ness. I used to have terrible OCD, but now I can control most of my OCDness. But there's still some of my OCD that I can't and somehow I don't want to stop. It makes me frustated sometimes, but I just can't help it. My mind will keep bugging me about that.

So here's few things that I can't stop entirely:
- Time time time! I'm so strict about time that I set for myself. I'm not upset anymore if I don't meet my own standards, but I still feel the satisfacton everytime I can finish something on time that I set. Still can't help to set time for almost everything that I do.

- Tiles. My worst nemesis ever. Actually not only tiles, but mostly tiles. I never want to step on the spaces between tiles, you know, the lines. If I'm in my house in Jambi it's even worse, since I was kid I've already set which tiles I must step for each room, even which foot I must step on with. Sometime when I was idle I'll unconsciously step on the tiles with some patterns that I set.

- Anything related to food. My spoon and fork must be similar in weight, better if they actually got matching pairs. Can't break up the rice, keep the shape like the original. Food must newly cooked, or at least make me think so. That's why I hate mix rice, they already cook it like many hours ago before I choose the food. But lately I can eat mix rice in chola spice. Definitely improvement. If my food is something rectangular, I'll eat each sides before I eat the center part. Same thing with burger. Oh yea my instant noodles spices, soy sauce, oil, anything must be mixed together until they mix nicely; and the noodles must be shattered to small pieces.

- Computer programs and files. I always make sure when I leave my computer, even though I just go to toilet, I close all programs or at least minimize all programs. I hate seeing lots of tabs in my computer, keep everything as minimum as possible. Files placed in folders, I can't stand seeing stray files in desktop. I ever offer selvia to clean and organize her desktop lol. My bookmarks must have folders too. Can't stand stray bookmarks outside folders.

I think that all I can think for now, quite little compared to before. Oh yea, I also like cornering and centering stuff, but I think that's quite normal though...

What's in a name?

Well, quoting from William Shakespeare

What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.
Having unusual name as Tanyus Indrayani giving me quite a... well not exactly trouble, but more to a misunderstanding and such. Dunno why many Indonesians can't pronounce my name normally. There's so many 'variations' in my name, such as "tanjus"', "tenyus", "tangus", "tenjuus", and many more. My name also always mistaken as a boy's name since kinder garden until high school! So every time I see my name like this:
Tanyus Indrayani (L) <--- laki-laki/male
And the name "Indrayani" is not helping too. Indra usually use for boy's name, and Yani also not exactly girl's name. While my sister still got "Sumyati" which obviously a girls name. Oh yea, when I want to apply to bank in Malaysia, the CS ask me if I have any Indian blood because I got "Indra" in my name LOL. I really don't know from where my parents got the creative name, but I suspect it comes from my errrr surname "Tan" and my father's name, Yus Suryamin. For the Indrayani I think at that time my parents really want boy la hahaha. Other than that, I really don't know any reason behind my weird name.

But I'm proud of my name anyway. How many people in the world got the name Tanyus? :P

Because

I think my weight fluctuates worse than inflation. When I get back here 2 weeks ago I was 47.5kg; about 4 days ago I was 46kg; and now I'm 48.5kg. Time to buy new scale?

Btw, this week I spend my time playing lots and lots of point and click game. So far, all I can say that I'm quite frustrated playing some games in this genre and I hate black and white interface.

And actually I don't know what I want to say in this post, but I feel like posting something in my semi comatose blog. So bear with my super random post from now on.

Kittens, Onlympic and Character Death

Woots! My cat give birth to 3 kittens today! She keep meow-ing since 5.30, but finished the labor around 10.30~ Congrats, mommy cat!

Btw, also want to congrats Indonesia for getting gold medal in onlympic! :D Go go Indonesia! Too bad we didn't win any medal from single player in badminton though. But it' already very good, ok! :D We only send 24 players and so far we already gotn 5 medal so far :)

Actually our goverment promised the athlete that if they got any medal they will got a big amount of cash. No wonder all athlete become so motivated :P For gold medalist they will get Rp1Billion (around US$100,000++), silver will get Rp300million (around US$34,000), bronze will get around Rp125million (around US$15,000). According to what I read in newspaper Singapore is the country who will pay the most if their athlete got gold medal, they'll give 1million euro! @_@ That's because the last medal that they ever got was in 1996~

Btw, just finished reading Cable and Deadpool comic. And I'm sooooooooooo angry!!!!! Why Cable must die??????? At first I thought they'll resurrect him again (just like before) but then actually they really kill him!!! T____T Why the characters that I like almost always die?????? What the heck man!!!! T_________T

I also re-read The Silmarillion (The history of middle earth before the war of the ring in Lord of the Rings), and again, the characters that I like dieeeeeeee~~~~~~ T___T
1. Ereinion Gil-Galad
Why the high king of Noldor die????? T____T He's the last high king! T__T
2. Echtelion
After killing Gothmog and another 2 balrogs you kill him????
3. Glorfindel
Killed after he kill a balrog too, stupidly getting killed because the Blarog snatched his hair and bring him down to valley with the balrog. Well, at least he'll ressurected again later.
4. Maedhros and Maglor
2 of 7 sons of Feanor, if only the oath didn't consume them... :( And the last scene when Maglor throw the silmaril to the sea and sing his lament is really really sad T____T

Well, at least Elrond survived all of the chaos though. But he really really got such a tragic fate T__T

Hello Again

Well, the second entry from Jambi! ;) This holiday makes me realize how good it is to sleep and wake up normally. I always feel refreshed everytime I wake up, not tired and moody. Oh, the joy of normal life!

And I've just finished reading comic books that I got before, and it makes me fall in love with...
Johann Kraus! xD Yea, it's Johann Kraus from Hellboy (from B.P.R.D actually)! In comic Johann do not looked as good as in movie LOL, but he really really is a gentleman in comic while in movie he's such an ass. I think I prefer the characteruzation in comic rather than in movie. While in movie Abe is gentle and quiet, in comic he's sarcastic and cool. Fits him better I think. And all characters in comic got more depth and unfortunately, sad past :(

I really confuse about I wanted to say for the whole week. So difficult la to summarize all events for whole week in one entry. But my family now really busy in preparing for tomorrow's festival. Every year in my hometown, every 18th August there will be festivals to remember about our independence day. Will take photos of it, if I have the time. We'll be very very busy tomorrow. My mom will cook nasi lemak! And my mom's nasi lemak is the best! ;)

Will update again later! Eat now!

Sunday, August 10, 2008

Hello from Jambi!

Well, in my hometown now wth the legendary super slow DIAL-UP internet connection. Opening my e-mail in 10 minutes. Sweet. How I miss my hometown.

So far I eat lots of food, and what a wonderful spicy food I've ate <3 Satay, soto, soup, rendang, empek-empek, bakso, tekwan, etc etc~ Actually I want to post some pictures of the said food, but my super slow connection just not allowing me to do that. To open blogger I need more than 10 minutes, imagine for how long I need to wait to upload photos?

I still can online in my MSN and YM from my cellphone though, even though the connection is equally sucks, keep disconnecting me every now and then. I also can't use internet too much because it's so damn expensive here. So I will not updating my blog as often as before.

Btw, got a very binteresting comic strip about bloodtype here. What is your bloodtype? :)
Since my papa is A and my mama is O, so I must have fenotipe AO (A). That explains my mixed behavior between bloddtype A and O. Quite interestng :)
Well, let me guess my classmates' bloodtype!
Chen --> either A or O, but more to A I think
Chris --> B or AB
Dee --> B
Selvia --> O
Wahyu --> must be a pure A!
Correct me if I'm wrong~
wookay, my laptop almost die now, which means I must off now! Will update again next week!
